A new multi art-form improvisation night is being started up in Huddersfield with the first event taking place at the Laurence Batley Theatre: Cellar Bar on the 5th of May 2011 7.45 – 9.30.
‘Clunk’ offers an open and supportive space for established and emerging improvisers; a new addition to the dynamic improvisation scene that is currently growing within Huddersfield. The format of the night will consist of a series of improvisations varying from short pieces (5-10 minutes) to longer improvisation (25-35 minutes), presented by solo performers, duets, and larger ensembles from a range of disciplines including dance, music, theatre, physical performance and sound design.
As well as being a space for performers to share their work we also look for these evenings to provide a setting for artist to explore new collaborations, to take risks, to venture into unknown territories, and to find support and dialog with like and different minded artists.
If you are interested, intrigued, puzzled or perhaps a little confused, then please join us on the 5th of May for what will hopefully be the first of series of regular nights taking place in Huddersfield.
Tickets are available from the Lawrence Batley Theatre box-office: £5/3 For further details go to: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=135319406541968
